Ladder Training Course Description
Ladder inspection training enables candidates to safely use ladders, conduct periodic statutory inspections and maintenance of ladders & step ladders.
Ladder inspection course candidates gain knowledge of different ladder classifications and construct, creating an understanding of ladders such that the user can safely use previously unseen ladder types through the use of manufacturer guidance. Ladder users should over time develop an inherent and instinctive nature for identifying and eliminating hazards, a nature that the ladder safety course will set in motion.
Training will enable candidates to undertake proper ladder risk assessment to improve ladder safety while using ladders in different situations. Ladder safety courses will surpass basic use of ladders and teach candidates general maintenance techniques, identification of hazardous equipment through pre-use and formal inspections and the procedure for repairs including who should undertake them. Candidates will end up with a thorough understanding of ladder regulations and ladder inspection procedures.
Ladder safety training should be completed by any individual who is likely to use ladders or stepladders of any size to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
“Where work is carried out at height, every employer shall take suitable and sufficient measures to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, any person falling a distance liable to cause personal injury.”
