First Aid training courses qualify learners to carry out and administer basic first aid. Teaching appropriate first aid policy within an organisation, the First Aid course creates a fundemantal understanding of the need for First Aid measures including the availability and storage of suitable medical equipment for the particular environment.
As well as understanding reporting procedures in the event of an accident, First Aid training candidates will learn primary survey techniques to ascertain the injuries or condition of a patient and ensure priority of treatment. Even a small injury might become infected so it is important that proper First Aid procedures are adhered to. As evidence to support the actions of a First Aider, First Aid at work training candidates will learn the importance of recording treatments using an accident book.
First Aid certification help generate awareness and foresight of potential injury and the initiative to prevent accidents from occurring. It is important that first aid kits are available and properly stocked but equally important that certain materials potentially hazardous to health such as drugs or alcohol wipes are not accessible by anyone to whom they may become harmful.
Accidents within the workplace should be reported and if necessary investigated to allow preventative measures to be implemented reducing the likelihood of future accidents.
First Aid courses help to create awareness and an underlying culture of Health and Safety within an organisation to keep all employees and site visitor’s safe at all times.
