Bendi Truck

Bendi Trucks are an articulated Forklift design that steer by pivoting on the front wheels of the Truck and are commonly referred to as a Pivot Steer Truck. The angle of rotation may range from 220° to 360° depending on the truck.

This articulated design offers a narrow turning circle and the advantage of being able to work in narrow aisles making them ideal for space efficient storage facilities. They are often seen and marketed as an alternative to Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Trucks while offering the versatility of a Counterbalance Forklift. They are suitable for indoor warehouse work or outdoor work such as offloading of delivery lorries.

The forks of the Truck follow the angle of the steering mechanism and do not extend forward. Picking of loads is dependent on movement of the vehicle which necessitates a skilled operator to position the Bendi Truck correctly to safely receive a pallet.

Training Information

Didac Bendi Truck training is accredited by the Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register (ITSSAR). Successful Bendi Forklift training candidates achieve a Bendi Forklift licence in the form of a photo ID card and certificate issued by Didac.

The Health and Safety Executive recommend that refresher Flexi Truck training should be considered every 3 to 5 years dependent upon the operational risks involved with the activities.

Flexi Forklift training candidates must have appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety footwear and hi viz coat or vest. The client is responsible for supplying this PPE and must be worn at all times during training. The Bendi Truck manufacturer instructions should also be made available to the Didac trainer assessor for reference if needed.

Bendi Forklift training candidates will undertake both practical and theoretical assessments to determine competence. Practical training will include instructor demonstrations and learner exercises to develop competency of operators.

Flexi Truck training cost depends on where the course is delivered as Didac are only able to offer Forklift training on client premises. Flexi Forklift licence documents are included in the price of training.
